The EPA+ (Plus) is a concept that builds on the existing Electronic Patient Record (EPA) and aims to create an expanded ecosystem for healthcare. We first heard about this project in March 2025, which Telekom MMS is advancing with various partners in the digital health industry.
The Core Idea
The EPA Plus will use the EPA as a basis to connect various care and value-added services, thereby enabling improved patient management. Telekom MMS acts as the platform operator, taking responsibility for the technical networking of various providers.
Functionality
The app uses the data from the EPA to create individual user journeys and offer the patient relevant services and offers. This can include, for example, matching vital data with a symptom checker, booking a telemedicine appointment, or conducting tests. The various providers (such as symptom checkers, laboratories, telemedicine) are standardized for a simple integration.
